Contest Updates:
Original Contest Post
So, I was thinking to myself today, 'Self? You should write something with Liz and Simon.' Normally, these things are large projects (aka RFI), and I end up turning them into joint illustrated ventures with *
LeftiesRevenge. This time, however, I think I want do a pure text, fun little adventure. I know Simon has a good deal of fangirls... as does Liz (appropriate, no?). Thinking about it, I decided to turn this into a contest! So, read on for the rules, and more importantly, PRIZES.
UPDATE: The piece is
here.

Contest Details
I will be writing a piece of fiction, depicting some wonderful misadventure with our favorite siblings. If you wish to enter the contest, you'll have to read the story (Don't worry, it'll be short) and then do a piece depicting a scene from the story. (Comments on the story/writing are appreciated, but won't affect your entry

)
I will be posting a deadline (6+ weeks, most likely) by which you need to send me a link to your entry. I will then take a week, and pick the top three. Prizes will then go out within a few days after that.
UPDATE: The contest will run from
July 20th till
October 1stPrizes
Grandprize:
- 6 month Subscription to dA!
- Fully Rendered commission from *LeftiesRevenge
Second Place:
Third Place:
Note: Seeing as how I am a writer, all I really have to offer is, well, writing. If you would like a piece from me in addition to the above three prizes, that's perfectly fine. Much as with the art commissions, the complexity of the piece will decrease the lower the place. (But, I'm willing to 'haggle' on the size.)
Entries
What I am looking for, primarily, is artwork. However, there are many forms of art. If you want to make sock puppets, or plushies of Liz and Simon acting out one of the scenes and take pictures (or a video!), that's perfectly fine. Seeing as how this is a written piece, literature is
not accepted. I know, I know, I'm a writer, I understand how often we're left out of things. I may be having a writing contest in the future, and then all those fancy artists will be out in the cold. I promise.
Also, I will be accepting sequential art(comics!), or animations. Sequential pieces will be judged as a single piece. Flash and other animations will be judged the same as other pieces. (Warning: I love animation and flash, but I do hold pieces like that to a higher standard.)
All entries need to be pmed to me, by the deadline I will post once I finish the piece, and open the contest. You may also pm *
LeftiesRevenge, but
IF I WAS NOT PMed, YOU DID NOT SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY. Clear? Good.
Also, I believe I need to make this clear:
I AM NOT LOOKING FOR FANART. I AM LOOKING FOR PIECES BASED OFF THE STORY I WILL BE POSTING AND LINKING TOO. I love fanart, and I will gladly accept fanart of my characters, but they don't count for the contest.

Feedback
Art is a learning experience, and that's one of the best things dA has going for it. As such, I would be more then happy to give you feedback on your entries,
if your request it. I won't placate you, I will point out flaws as well as strengths. I also will not post these publicly; you choose to share it, if you wish.
If you would like feedback, just let me know when you send in your entry.

Imagine a writing version of an OCT... only part of the grand prize is seeing your story illustrated and then printed? (Such a thing may exist. But still, the thought seemed wonderful to me)

Each moment, fleeting as the next, grants insight and delusion. Reaching out for pain, solace, a knife's edge dance to be celebrated. A delicate balance struck by those who serve. Each moment, a fleeting thought and a heartbeat's dance away from the edge.
